This morning, a fire started in one of the student restrooms in the science building at the PHS Senior Campus. The fire alarms sounded, the sprinklers turned on, and staff quickly responded resulting in the fire being put out almost immediately. Students and staff orderly evacuated the affected building as a precaution.
Staff is working together with the fire department to determine the cause. Maintenance and Operations is working to clean up the residual water from the sprinklers and repair any damage that may have resulted.
No students or staff were hurt or injured in this incident. Classes in the science building will be relocated for the day if necessary; other classes will continue as normal.
