Community Comes Together to Celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month with Joy and Inclusion

Paramount, CA — March 26, 2025

Today, Alondra Middle School, Alondra ASB, and Paramount High School’s Link Crew joined forces to host a heartwarming and exciting celebration in honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Students from across the District, especially those from classrooms supporting students with developmental disabilities, were the stars of the day, celebrated with a variety of fun-filled activities.

The event, designed to promote inclusion, friendship, and fun, was packed with energy and joy. Dozens of hands-on indoor crafts, bean bag challenges, parachute games, and dancing under a cloud of bubbles ensured that every participant felt the warmth of community spirit. The air was filled with laughter as students, teachers, and staff came together to engage in the festivities.

The day was not just an event—it was a celebration of inclusion. Alondra Middle School and Paramount High School students worked together to organize and facilitate the celebration, demonstrating the power of student-led initiatives in building a stronger, more connected school community.

The day’s festivities served as a powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing and embracing the diverse abilities that make up the fabric of the school. The overwhelming message was clear: inclusion matters.

The celebration was a great success, and it’s clear that the spirit of inclusion and community will continue to thrive in the years to come.
